Tamagotchi Connection V3 Designs

The Tamagotchi Connection V4 was released in 2007 as the fourth version of the connection series. It's based on the Japanese 'Entama' series. In the European and Australasia market its also known as the JinSei meaning 'Life'. The motto of this version is Living the Tamagotchi Life. This version also has a shell that was chosen by fans in 2006 as a competition held by Bandai. This winning design is white with Zig Zag stipes that glow in the dark. Its packaging is identical to other V4's except it has a stick that states winning design.
The V4 had a seperate TamaTown than the V3. This was also the first release where the device would generate a password as well as your username which you would input into TamaTown. On this version, there is a school that your characters can visit while you are in the town. The characters that are featured on this version are a mixture of the older Japanese releases, and previous version. They are now placed into 3 different groups. The Mame group, Meme group and the Kucki group. The new games are Jumping rope, Mimic dance, Shape and Flag. You can also get a job depending on how well you raise your Tamagotchi. You now also receive mail in the mail box icon.
The star icon represents the Tamagotchi's fortune (cookie). If you open this type of mail, it will show different icons and starts. These icons include a money bag to represent gotchi points, and hearts to represent friendship while a body represents health. The starts next to these icons represent how much luck you will have in these departments. For example if there is only one start next to the health icon, your character will likely get sick, while if there is three starts, your Tamagotchi character is unlikely to get sick at all.
The mail icon is for regular mail. You can get mail from the king, get gotchi points stolen or receive gifts and other things. The important mail icon is for information on the Tamagotchi's life. Such as a teacher inviting you to go to school.

All of the different shell designs include a silver 'Faceplate' Bandai also sells new faceplates for you to use, and custom faceplates can easily be purchased from websites online. The 4U uses two AAA batteries like the releases before it. It also features NFC, which was introduced with the Tamagotchi Friends but features a new method known as 'touching,' which is known to exceed both bumping and infra red communication from other versions. It involves positioning the back of the unit against a 'touch spot' to acquire downloadable items. Many of these are located around Japan, and enable users to access special downloads, such as new room designs, characters, and more. The touch spots are only made exclusive to Japan.
